Our track conditioners incorporate a rigid, heavy duty steel frame that is built to last. Steel cross beams on the track conditioners add strength and contain special carbide tipped teeth. The carbide tipped teeth are positioned on the beams for effective and complete working of the track surface.
Precise control of the working depth of the teeth is accomplished by an integrated roller assembly system.
The roller assembly provides compaction for the track surface. This combination enables the conditioner to work down high spots and provide a perfect surface. The cutting depth for most standardbred race tracks is 1/8”-1/2’. The 8” inch Tungsten Carbide tipped teeth are easy to replace and adjust with wear and are backed with a 4” welded steel gusset which supports the tooth for added stability. As all Larcom and Mitchell equipment, the cutting depths are easy to adjust and control to the exact preset depths suited for your specific conditions.
Larcom and Mitchell also manufacturers a Heavy Duty Standardbred track conditioner which provides more weight in dealing with wet and icy weather conditions. The Heavy Duty Model includes a 18” roller with longer 11” carbide tipped teeth and 6” gussets. This design allows higher compaction and more aggressive performance where required. This particular unit has been very popular in Canada and the East Coast where inclement weather conditions are often severe.
